After ISPAT@4.2 LPA, cracked JSW Stell Ltd@3.6LPA-my 2nd job-even then I was feeling to have been jobless.. in no world-- aisa lag rha tha ki job laga hi nhi .
twas just the 35 minutes on 10th of April 2010 that changed all my feelings for the day.. for you..for me too.
I apologize right now for the length.
The 35 mins interview:
coal1: so, Anindya Guin.. rite.. sit down
coal2: your photo attached in the CV isnt matching your face??
me: sir, I did cut mah hair after that.. its a recent foto
coal1: so, Anindya, do u know anything abt our company??
me: CIL is d single largest coal producin com... largest corporate employer...
coal2: do u know anythng abt d quantity of production, d annual turnover??
me: nearly 400 MT in 08-09.. annual trnov ...(kya pooch rha saale)
coal2: fine... have u been selected by any other company here in your campus
me: yes sir... JSW steel
coal1: jindal?,, if i'm rite. its a pretty good company to work with.. then why do u want to join CIL (telling as if i've been already selected in CIL)
me: sir actually.. actually I always wanted a PSU job.my dad was a mech engg in DVC and he always wanted me 2 've a navratna job. i would b happy.. with a job secured
coal2:every1 now is fter job security.. it doesnt mean that govt sector gives ur job secured.. u can b thrashed.. so many unions.. ///...
coal1:why r u interested in CIL .. d job isnt easy.. u need 2 go underground..the places are not so good as jiiiiindal to work.. u need to work in shifts
me: (I have no desire to live in Asansol, dgp area.. I cannt choose that)sir, actuallly i can mange all those things.. im very flexible regarding all those matters.. fterall its the pay package which attracts me the most for your company.
coal2:ummmm..whats ur favourite subject in these 4 yrs??what r u intersed in
me: its digital electronics.
[Very exciting, the 2 koyla men asked me analog electronics also.. coal1 was prepared with a sheet of basic electrical engg questions... cheap questions infact.. the other 1 was shuffling my certificate file.. asked me about my project in CMERI, durgapur,if i had done anything there or not. it then came to power electronics.. microprocessor, power systems..... sab cool kaal. and then finally came a question from electrical machines, which I dont know the basics of. I really wasn’t expecting any follow-up. he asked me another from machines.. a simple one.. infact the most simple one.. torque speed characteristics of an IM, I threw an arrow. and finally...
"ok.. we are done with the intervw... kindly send d next one"... thank u sir..]
Did I get the job??? YES.. COAL INDIA LTD...ITS my 3rd job from NIT DGP.. and would b the 1st to join in. Management Trainee(Electrical).
INR 6.1 LPA during training(max CTC is 14.08 lacs).. fter training.. god knows if I continue
